The story:

This misheard lyric belongs to my brother, actually. We were
driving down the highway, and an alternative rock station was
playing this song. He turns to me and says, "Is it me, or is this guy
singing about feeling a donkey's face?" I burst out laughing, not at
him, but because it really does sound like he's singing that, and I
just never bothered to look up the real lyrics. Fortunately, my
brother had his iPhone with him, and we looked up right then and
there what the real lyrics were. Back in the days before iPhones, I
bet many other unsuspecting listeners got this one wrong, and it's
still with them.
