The story:

I always assumed it was Fire Mouth he had which I
assumed was some sort of hearth you cook on as he
was a country boy, and pictured some sort of black
metal cooking hearth where he cooked his cakes on
the griddle.

I **sumed the name "fire mouth" was about the
hearths fireplace where you burned wood to get it
warm to cook on. recently I found out otherwise and
still can't quite make out "fine wife"
