    I have been singing this song for almost 30 years
    this way. I knew it *probably* wasn't correct, but I
    didn't care. One day I was singing it in the car
    with my mom, who couldn't stop laughing at me and
    pointed out that they were the wrong lyrics. I was
    embarrassed because I've always been kind of a lyric
    snob. For some reason, it didn't deter me, and I
    still sing it this way.
