    That cat is bloated

    Song: Red Hand
Real Lyric: That gun is loaded

    The story:

So my sophomore year of high school my guy friend and
I took 3D Art for a semester, and every day the
teacher would turn the radio on to the pop station
while we worked. Most of the period would then
consist of me and him harshly critiquing each song,
    with a few exceptions...

This song came on several times and I never
understood a single word of the chorus. I actually
kind of thought it was in another language, like
maybe Jamaican because of the reggae-influenced
sound...The radio DJ never seemed to say the name of
the song, and I could never remember enough of the
more comprehensible verses to look up the lyrics and
    find it.

One day I expressed my confusion to my friend and he
said he heard "that cat is bloated." I figured that
couldn't be the real lyric, but I really had no clue
what they were saying. So for the rest of the
semester we referred to it as "The Bloated Cat Song."

Since I rarely listen to the radio, I never heard the
song again once the semester ended, and not knowing
any of the lyrics, I had no way of looking it up. So
one day, months later, I decided I would listen to
Top 40 radio until it inevitably came on, and then
look up whatever lyrics I could decipher. Luckily it
played within about an hour of listening, and I
finally found the name of the song, as well as the
    real lyrics.
