As a little kid, I had no comprehension of the Spanish language when I heard this tune on the radio and could not understand what the custom of cleaning up had to do with Christmas, other than gathering all the empty boxes and gift wrap paper off the floor. Now I understand it as being something Apu would say to Homer on Christmas Eve in an episode of The Simpsons.
