Actually I was just listening to the CD and I was singing it like that in my head and whenever it got stuck in my head... No one else knew the song, but when I played it for them I made them try to guess what the guy was saying. They could barely understand. I ended up telling people what he was saying, not realizing that I was wrong! ...Oops!

I heard it the same way as this but I got the "once again the carnival closed down" right. It's not exactly funny but it's interesting that even when we think we understand Raine Maida we don't.
