Actually, I THINK they changed it for two reasons. 1) the "gay" thing...children in the room and also sometimes offensive to people 2)It would mess up the whole thing in the music video...It just wouldn't go right..

They have an edited version of this song that says those lyrics, there are actually 2 different versions

There's actually two versions of this song. "I'll tell mine your gay" is the original but then she changed it to "You won't mind, if I say, by the way," to try to avoid offending anybody.

There are two versions of this song. The "gay" version is on the CD, but the public radio version has "won't mind if I say."
