Just now, when I was trying to figure out what the song was about and I started googling it. There's no embarassing singing along and getting busted story, though I was corrected finally by the official Steely Dan site, even though until that moment I was fully convinced that I was correct. It makes more sense! Who the hell is Lady Bayside? No one knows. Late in Bayside makes way more sense because "there was nothing that I could do" whereas what could he do about her being "Lady Bayside"?!?!
