I realized when I first heard it in the ipod commercial that those couldn't be the correct lyrics, as they didn't make sense unless surfing is actually a popular Olympic sport in Germany. However, I couldn't come up with anything else that made sense, so I sang it that way for months until an exhaustive Google search showed me the error of my ways.
