There is a guy who I work with called Paul Phelan (pronounced 'feelan')who was big into Lionel Ritchie, and one of the guys in the office showed me a photo of Paul at one of Lionel's concerts from sometime back in the late 70s/early 80s. He convinced me that Lionel had written the song for Paul. I can't tell you how amazingly stupid I felt when I sang it to slag him off in front of the rest of the office and they all just burst out laughing at me!!!!
