Actually, this was sung by my young brother who was only about three at the time. We were living in Corpus Christi in the early sixties (Cuban Missile Crisis time) and can only think that he confused the lyrics with a cultural artifact that was very much in the news at the time. He sang it out loud in the car and the rest of the family broke out laughing at it.
Since we couldn't explain to him what was so funny, he essentially has become catatonic - refusing to say anything original to anyone for fear of being laughed at.
