    I never misheard it to start with but ever since someone pointed out to me that it sounds like this, all can now hear is the wrong lyric!

    (Obviously the now deceased leader wasn't very a very prominent figure at the time the Monkees were recording so safe to say no-one could actually believe this alternate version is correct...could they?!)
