The story:

I always had thought that the song was about their journey of popularity through the internet, so it made sense. I went to one of their concerts where they played this song and because it is one of my favorites, I sang it out very loudly. I finally looked up the actual lyrics; now I know why I kept getting strange looks from other members of the audience.
