I was 18 and working at my first desk job. The oldies station played through the phones there, so I was just singing along while doing a repetitive task. A coworker who sat right across from me heard me and burst out laughing. I asked, "What? What's so funny?!" I think she just couldn't believe that I sincerely thought that those were the lyrics. I just thought it was a song about some really awkward girl.
