It wasn't exactly embarassing, only that when I heard it today I actually noticed that it was "I saw them" rather than anything else, and I finally realized that Craig David wasn't pronouncing the word "mayonnaise" in what I assumed was local to him. After seeing "I saw", I listened carefully, and heard three words! "my own eyes". Since the song came out, I always thought he was trying to be clever with "spreading those lies" because I thought he was comparing it to spreading mayonnaise! Because of this, I had always admired this "lyric".
