Wanna have a lemmee (or lemming)

The story:

My little sister heard this as the nonsense
word "lemmee", and I thought it was "lemming".
When this song came out, we derived a great deal
of entertainment from recording silly nonsense
on a portable tape player, and recorded both me
singing along, in all sincerity, "wanna have a
lemming" and then my sister laughing
hysterically and repeating "lemmee". The memory
still haunts me.
