The story:

In a college dorm room, freshman year, talking with a bunch of friends about what a great band Cream was, musically, lyricly, I referenced how singing about how a kid is not a tomato was such a very poetic way of saying that you shouldn't fool around when having sex, because you're possibly creating another human -- and not something far less significant like a tomato. Most friends there wouldn't believe what I was saying and broke up laughing, I tried to convince them I was right, and I might have convinced a couple for a while. We played the song. Truth was revealed. We thought maybe "not a tomato" might have been deeper, but the product of an overactive imagination... Joke definitely was on me.
