the topic was africa

The story:

i was on a roadtrip driving along with the music blasting and at the very moment that she sang that line...for once in my life i had stopped singing along and i clearly heard the words. i laughed my butt off because i am 47 and have been singing it this way for years but also because my lyrics make way more sense. She walked into the party and everyone was talking and "the topic was africa"...somehow i managed to create my own little story to go along with the wrong words...now i just wonder how many other songs i have been butchering!
