My niece was explaining how she really loved this song and thought it was so deep, this story about two people right for each other but meeting at the wrong time. I couldn't catch my breath for at least 2 minutes.

Well I heard it the same way as your niece, I'm 30 and I didn't find out the true lyrics until a few years ago. I have a similar story... I thought this song was so deep!! I truly believe it woulda been better if he sang it our way.
