Well, I had barely heard the song before until I was watching the opening for the 1996 Olympics on Youtube. NBC was playing the song, and when they got to this verse, they showed an an aerial shot of what to me looked like an island. So, while I knew that these were not "the isles of song", I figured that that was the lyric because why else would they be showing an island? Then, Diamond Sang at the Boston Pops 4th of July Concert in 2009 and I realized the real lyrics.
