i was singing them infront of my boyfriend and he was so mad he pulled over turned the radio and said THATS NOT THE WORDS! i stopped dancing and ignored the other songs on the radio... he later put the song on my ipod and put the lyrics on it

Dood. I thought the exact same thing x'D My boyfriend was like "Hey, do you know that song Animal by Neon Trees?" And I was like hell yea!! And I tried to be all flirty n shit so I was all "I'll take a bite out of YOUR heart tonight ;D" he just said "lol" so I assumed it was correct. I felt like a complete asshat when I found out the real words LOL

You actually had it right. In each chorus, first they say "take a bite of", and the next time it's "say goodbye to".
