The story:

I had bought the album when it first was released in the early 1970s. About 20 years later I was disscusing with a young employee of mine, the old guy who had the office next to me, who coughed loudly and incesantly. I quoted the misheard line to the young employee, who looked at me deadly serious and said: "But that is not what the song says." I argued with him, but he proved me wrong. I stil think lung works better in the line.
