The story:

I was at home with my oldest daughter, and I was listening to the radio when I heard this song for the first time. I thought it was an unusual subject for a song, but in some ways very touching. She misses her boyfriend since he went 'round the bend. Still, I thought it was rude of her to say he was crazy. I listened to the song several times to make sure that's what she was saying and every time I heard 'since you went crazy.' Finally, the announcer told the name of the song and the artist and I cracked up laughing at myself. I still like to sing it my way, though.
