Well, I was a kid and I used to think it was so cool that the Beatles were singing about the little beachside town called Rye that I used to spend all my summers in where I live in Australia!! This went on for about 10 years until the Anthology came in and I became Beatles-obsessed. Oh that was an embarressing day when I realised what the real lyrics were!
