The story:

I didn't know it could be anything else! I had never bought any of his albums until I bought the Greatest Hits CD, which (of course) didn't come with lyrics. And my version made so much sense that I don't know if I would've ever looked to see if I was right. It wasn't until I read about someone else's (different) goof-up on your site that I realized I was wrong. Thank goodness the only other person here is my 2 yr old son, who can now learn the correct lyrics! The only reason I would say that my version is better is because my version makes it more general... you don't have to be talking about a girl with a certain name.
