The story:

Is there such a thing as a "reverse mondegreen?"
From the early seventies until about one year ago,
being notoriously hearing dyslexia afflicted, I
was ABSOLUTELY, would-bet-my-life POSITIVE that I
was hearing this song wrong. "Alligator lizards in
the air?" Ha ha. No way.

After all these years, it finally occurred to me
to Google it, and what do you know. I wasn't
hallucinating this time.
