Well, I always thought he was angry with the girl he sings about, so I've always heard interpreted it like "I did all I could to save out relationship, but you f***ed me over so I'm going to sleep with you girlfriends"...
I thank god I live in Sweden where noone really listens to the lyrics... So it wasn't really embarrassing for me...
