Luckily, I never had to admit to anyone in public that I had misheard these lyrics. I did, however, search for the song online with the misheard lyrics and found it promptly. When I read "One Way Ticket to the Blues", I thought: "Oh, so there's another version of this song?!" How wrong I was...
Still, I have to say I like the "spacey" Sci-Fi sound of a song that's about a journey to the moon, even when you're never coming back.
