The Story: Don't eat the fruit in the garden, Eden,, It wasn't in God's natural plan., You were only a rib,, And look at what you did,, To Adam, the father of Man.
The Story: You smell like goat, I'll see you in hell
I have to admit, I always thought my version was highly unlikely; for a start, how many singers use their songs to discuss the true nature of extra-marital romance, never mind boasting about the use of red meat as a mood-enhancing substance.
However, it really did sound like that (with the first part seeming a bit incoherent but with me totally convinced she ended on 'high on mincemeat') and I had no other explanation of what Nelly 'mumbler' Furtado might be saying.
This changed when just idly browsing through the music channels, when the song came on with on-screen lyrics (part of some sing-along of 00s classics). Being drunk and singing along with people at the time, I thought it was best just to pretend I'd known all along (also, don't criticise my choice of drunk activity alright- it was ironic, in a non-hipster way).
