If you search for the wrong lyrics on the Internet you'll find plenty of hits. For years fans of the Italian singer Rita Pavone were proud that she was mentioned in a Pink Floyd song. Rita herself comments it in the autobiographical notes she wrote for a compilation, so that's why I thought those were the correct lyrics. The misheard line was also quoted in a Rita Pavone fan site. I found it was wrong when I checked the lyrics on the remastered "Meddle" CD.
