Here's the thing, I only thought this for a short time in the 70's when hearing this on the "Running on Empty" album before I figured out what he was saying.
This is a serious slow song but it sounds so much like he is saying "I need to fart" that whenever I need to cheer my kids up, I tell them to listen to this guy singing about farts and they get a fit of laughing when they hear it every time. The fact that it is a sad song makes it all the funnier.
