Like the fool who is drowning in his parents' dream (and)

The story:

To make it through band camp every year, one of my friends and I would constantly sing our favorite rock songs - to take our minds off our rather unpleasant surroundings. We had both just gotten the (then - new) 3 Doors Down CD & were singing various different songs off of it - when I belted out "drowning in his parent's dream." She laughed hysterically, but since I was so sure I was right, and had nearly convinced her, we checked the lyrics on the CD jacket a couple of weeks later (once we returned to civilization) and discovered how very messed my relationship with my parents must be. Even after about 5 years, she hasn't let me live it down, & likely never will.
