Let's go crazy,
Let's get nauseous!

The story:

I really liked Prince's Purple Rain album (okay, so I was an impressionable youth, and my older sister had bought the record) but had a hard time figuring out some of the lyrics. "Let's go crazy - let's get nauseous" made perfect sense to me - I pictured having a really wild night (i.e. eating all kinds of junk food and staying up late) and getting sick to my stomach.

I didn't figure out the truth until she got tired of the album and gave it to me. If you listen carefully to the song, though, it REALLY DOES sound like he is saying "nauseous!"

As a side note, I became quite dangerous once I had the lyrics in hand. Unfortunately, I learned the correct words to the song "Darling Nikki" and proceeded to belt them out on a daily basis (it's rather risque - but at that age, I had NO IDEA what the words meant!). When my mother overheard me singing that song, she confiscated the record, and only just gave it back to me a few years ago!
