The story:

I was singing along to the song on the radio when I was babysitting my little cousin. I got to that part, and she started to cry because she thought it was horrible that the man would kill himself by jumping off of a quay! My aunt arrived home just as my cousin was screaming, and I explained what had happened. To my surprise, my aunt laughed and laughed! She knew what the real lyrics were! I still think that is a pretty good way to leave your lover, though...
