The story:

My mother and I were in the car with a friend of
mine and Hold On Loosely came on the radio. We sang
it as "Loose leg" while my friend sang it as
"Loosely." Friend stared at us in horror and
corrected us. We still sing it as "Loose leg" to
this day.
