It was probably one of those "Aha!" moments, while listening to the song. For some reason I told a friend what I'd thought the lyrics were, and she just stared at me...
Anyway, I've never really understood why I didn't even reflect over why Phil Collins would have been standing somewhere out in the cold, waiting for the Snowman, for all that time.
