Actually, my then-boyfriend (now husband) was newly arrived from Guatemala and we were on our second or third date. He was anxious to show me how well his English was coming along and the song Venus by Bananarama came on the radio. He decided to serenade me in his heartiest voice and when the chorus came, I heard him sing with great gusto:

A conservative college mate of mine was scandalized after first hearing the Shocking Blue version of this song..."How could they play this on the radio?!" I rather preferred his version to the original.
