The story:

In the early '80s I was in high school. At the
Friday night school dances they often played this
song and everyone would goes nuts screaming and
jumping up and down. I could never understand why
everyone reacted so to the words "Go Gay".
Eventually, I too joined in.

20 years later, my husband turned the volume up as
this song was played on the radio. He said, "In
high school I loved Clapton's "Cocaine" song".
Clarity hit and it all made sense. I wonder if I
was the only one who screamed "Go Gay" to
Clapton's "Cocaine".
