I was born without you baby
But my feelings were a little bit too strong

    Artist: Aynsley Dunbar
    Song: Warning
Real Lyric: I was warned about you babyBut my feelings are a little bit too strong

    The story:

Not I, but Ozzie Osbourne of Black Sabbath, sang this lyric wrong. In the famous Black Sabbath cover of the song "Warning," Ozzie sings "I was born without you baby," but he has mondegreened the original Aynsley Dunbar lyric, "I was warned about you baby," which makes sense in the context of the song's title and theme.

The original does not appear on any Aynsley Dunbar album, but was apparently released as an impossible-to-find 45 rpm single. It can be heard on YouTube; the lyric in question is quite clear. Maybe only Ozzie could get it wrong; but to be fair, he may have heard it in a club, where anyone would be challenged to make out the lyrics of any song.

The irony is that those who mis-hear Ozzie's lyrics are making a mistake about a mistake.
