I walked alone between some old adobe hussy enders.

The story:

It wasn't long ago actually - I heard that song a couple of times
over the years. I had never heard of "haciendas" (or understood that
it was a Spanish word) and the only meaning of "adobe" I knew of,
was the company who makes Photoshop. I'm not a native English
speaker and had that song in a sort of "state of suspended
understanding" like most other lyrics. I think it suddenly dawned on
me when I heard it again - and wondered why I had allowed those
nondescript "hussy enders" all the time: for some reason I
associated them with "hazy horizons" (a Dutch synonym for
"horizon" is "einder").
