As a Roxy fan wannabe (I met them on BBC's
'Seven Ages of Rock' when I was 12), I fell in
love with this song and video. And I really
wanted to sing it. But what was this goddamn
elf doing in the lyrics? Made no sense and I
knew no one who could explain it to me.
Well, until one day I searched for the real
lyrics and found that CPL-593H verse. Well,
that's a car license plate. Now I understand
what te band's singing, but it still doesn't
make much sense. And I think the 'city elf'
sounds more... transcendental. Just like Roxy
was.
