The story:

I was always impressed by how generous the misjudged man was...he wasn't even liked and he gives the singer a car (would sure make someone my friend!). I think I was trying to rhyme "call" with "for". I always heard this on AM (WIXY 1260) when it was first out, but years later I moved to oldies stations on FM (actually I kept my tastes and radio changed) and the reception was better. Also, I had a better appreciation for what kind of a gift a car would be! I listened once to the song, and realized what they were singing. I'm divided whether my version is better...it's certainly more spectacular, but I realize the real version is more reasonable!
