I finally met Don Henley when I moved to his
hometown of Linden, TX about 12 years ago...and I
actually brought this up in conversation with him.
I honestly thought there was no way I was the only
one who ever misheard this lyric, but his genuine
laughter assured me that I, alone, WAS the only
idiot who did.
