Glowin' like a melon on the edge of a knife

The story:

For years, I thought this would make a neat
photograph - a glowing, ripe melon balanced on
the edge of a sharp kitchen knife - until I
suggested setting up the photo to a friend, who
thought I was both crazy and deaf!
