This came out in the 90s and it was always played on the radio and for some bizarre reason, I can't fathom why, I thought that the lyrics were about Michael Portillo, the politican (maybe I'd heard his name on the news or something) and got the idea into my head that the song was about him. I only found out the real lyrics when I was watching a countdown show of 100 greatest videos and people were talking about the song on it.
