When my father got the "Escape" CD a long time ago
[which he played constantly in the car], I'd hear the main
lyric [and the song] not as a spirit-boosting refrain, but
rather another depressing breakup song [with a uplifting,
catchy melody!] This was also the version I'd
embarrassingly sing, until I had actually looked on the
CD, and then it made every bit of sense.
