I had thought that the song was a ballad about two desperadoes named "Dirty Dietz" and "The Thunder Chief". I was on a date with a woman from college who described her paralegal services as "dirty deeds, done dirt-cheap--you know, like the song". For the first time, I realized that I'd been hearing them wrong all along!
