Long version: The song came on the music channel at work and I said, "I wonder if that really happened to this guy..." and they said, "what...?" and I said, "that song is really sad -- he's saying, 'My Daddy gave me away...'" and one of the guys said, "are you sure... I don't think that's what he's saying..." well I fought tooth and nail and finally said, "I'll look it up..." and did but I started reading the lyrics and got to the part where it said, "My Daddy gave me a name..." and kept reading 'cause I still hadn't realized that I was wrong and then they started laughing and I didn't realize why until they said, "you just read it and you still don't realize you were wrong..." Short version: My face got really red and I just got quiet.
