We had just been watching the movie 'Genghis Blues', about Paul Pena who wrote (or co-wrote) the song. I didn't know what they were talking about when they said 'Jet Airliner'. Then it dawned on me that it wasn't Jed and Lionel they were singing about after all - my boyfriend's laughter shook the stairwell after I told him that one.
