The story:

My best friend was singing along to it in the car and when he
said 'petrified' I burst into laughter. It took him a while to
convinceme that it was the actual lyric. The persona of the
song being a nervous woman in her mid-thirties terrified of
breaking up with someone just made perfect sense to me.
